Fairy Sandie from Ladybird Entertainment has visited Saint Jerome's Kindergarten classes, in Munster for over 10 years. We invite Fairy Sandie year after year. She engages the children in a rich and interactive performance, which links well with visual and performing arts goals. (Satisfying Outcome 4 of the EYLF - 'Children develop dispositions for learning such as curiosity, confidence, creativity, enthusiasm, imagination and reflexivity'. ) Her interactive performance includes music and movement as well as storytelling, bringing an aesthetic dimension to learning, which I value as it develops a sense of wonder within the children. We invite the children to dress up as their favourite fairy tale character and we have a fairy tea party afterward her visit. It is a wonderful day however it is Fairy Sandie's performance that thrills the children the most. She brings smiles to their faces and leaves them talking about it for days. Fairy Sandie has a wealth of experience in performance arts and a passion working with children. On a personal level it is lovely to see the delight of the children.
